The ethos here at The Crafty Cafe is all about nurturing creativity and encouraging comfort. Rufus and Madeleine would like you to come in and explore your ideas. You can express them however you want, and we'll help you make your crafty vision a reality. Or maybe you'd prefer to just put your feet up and enjoy a cup of fine coffee and and some excellent cake. If you just want to check us out then please come on in!
The main experience we offer here at The Crafty Cafe is the ever popular array of pottery painting. But we also offer a variety of arts and crafts and we can assure you that all of the crafts we have on offer will be fun, interesting and will allow your creativity to express itself in ways you never imagined. So, from bisque pottery painting, to decoupage art, from needlework, to basket weaving, the freedom to create will be paramount, the options nearly limitless. And if there's anything you'd like to do that we don't currently offer then tell us and we'll try our hardest to make sure we have it next time. We'll also be offering evening and weekend sessions with local artists and creators so there will be a chance to try your hands at all sorts of wonderful handicraft throughout the coming year. And don't worry, if the thought of rolling a unicorn in glitter makes you go cold there will be hardcore crafts on offer too, so if you fancy having a go at some rugged arm knitting or some hot pyrography then don't be put off by the sequins and beads. We aim to cater for everybody!
The Crafty Cafe will be available to book for parties and we can host small events depending on the needs of our customers. Children's craft birthday parties will of course be on offer all year round so pop in and chat to us about your desires.
Because of our focus on crafts and a slightly limiting building layout, we'll be serving a small but scrumptious selection of food every day we're open. So, whether you want some light refreshments while you paint a mug or a lunch with friends we'll be able to provide for your needs. We felt it desirable to focus our efforts into excellent vegetarian food so that no one is excluded, and we will make sure we always have gluten free and dairy free options available. We source all of our products and ingredients from local independent suppliers who know the value of exceptional quality. You can rest assured that whatever your desires we'll have them covered. Don't hesitate to ask or inform us of any allergies or intolerances as we have them too. Please check out our menu page for an example of the food we offer and also what kind of crafts we can provide. Just remember that we've probably got a whole load more that aren't on the menu so please ask if there's something else you'd like to try.
We both come from creative backgrounds so we can hopefully facilitate you in whatever way you need us to while you visit our cafe. We've been wanting to start something like this for a long time and we're very excited to finally sink our teeth into the project. Madeleine studied as an arts and crafts primary school teacher and Rufus is a creative writer and woodworker. We're proud parents to two precocious boys so we know the importance of happy and content children. Together, we plan to make The Crafty Cafe a community hub for anyone interested in exploring the creativity that we feel everyone has inside of them.
We can't wait to see you inside!
Rufus and Madeleine.
